Fund Raising

Dame Catherine’s, which is a registered charity, is entirely self-funded by parents and other benefactors. So when it comes to fundraising, the school’s supporters have always had to ‘think big’.

In 1988, we opened the Catherine Wheel craft and gift shop, now at Staunton Harold, which not only provides almost unlimited present-buying inspiration but also raises a significant amount per year for Dame Catherine’s.

In 1995, parents at the school set up a village recycling scheme, which provides over £1,000 per year, as well as raising environmental awareness.

There’s also a highly successful art exhibition, every August Bank Holiday, at Ticknall Village Hall (opens in a new window).

Dame Catherine Harpur’s School host a variety of fund raising events throughout the year either at the school itself or in Ticknall Village Hall (opens in a new window) next door. Please check our ‘Dates’ page regularly for details of upcoming events.
