Local mums, Kerry Churchill & Deborah Bates are taking the drastic step of having their hair cut off for four very worthy local charities.

  • The Gracie Hicks fund, set up in memory of a beautiful & very courageous local girl, who tragically died in 2008, following a long battle with cancer.  This fund also supports CLIC Sargent, a national charity for children with cancer.
  • The Little Princess Trust uses real hair to make wigs for children who have suffered hair loss, either through cancer treatment or alopecia.  The trust is based in the Midlands, but operates nationally.  It typically requires three sets of donated hair (which must be 10” long, to make 1 wig)
  • The third charity that we are supporting is the Rainbows Hospice, which is dedicated to supporting children with life-limiting & life-threatening conditions from throughout the East Midlands.
  • Our final charity is Dame Catherine Harpur’s School, a small inspirational non-government village school in Ticknall.  The school needs to raise £250,000 to bring the 19th century buildings into the 21st century.

Local hairdresser Tony Middleton, from Altro Mondo in Burton has very kindly agreed to volunteer his services to do the deed at the Bull’s Head pub in Repton, on Sunday 13th December from 7pm onwards.

To support the ladies, please either donate via the school’s PayPal Donate page, come along on the night, or call either 01283 701671 or 01283 704248.

Thank you!
